In our work by Scherb et al., we showed that the thermoresponse of 2D supramolecular assemblies can be controlled via the length variation of alkyl chains involved in intermolecular interactions. Our supramolecular assemblies are formed from molecules equipped with alkyl chains as side groups. We measured the 2D lattices of the different molecular network at 5 and 300 K to measure the thermal expansion coefficient as a function of the alkyl chain length. Check it out in Small.
