at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse (MLH / BSL)

When exiting the airport, make sure you get out of the airport through the exit to Switzerland (there is also an exit to France!).

By public transport

Take the bus number 50. Get off at bus stop Kannenfeldplatz and walk down the Metzerstrasse to the crossroad St. Johanns-Ring. Follow the St. Johanns-Ring down to the Klingelbergstrasse.

By taxi

The charge for a taxi from the EuroAirport to the Department of Physics is of the order of CHF 30 (swiss francs).

at Basel Bahnhof SBB (from Switzerland and France)

Leave the station through the main entrance and take the yellow tram number 11 towards St. Louis Grenze. Get off at the tram stop St. Johanns-Tor. Turn left and walk up St. Johanns-Ring until Klingelbergstrasse (second on the left). The Department of Physics is house number 82.

Alternative:
Take the bus number 30 (direction Badischer Bahnhof) until the bus stop Bernoullianum. Take the pedestrian underpass a few meters behind the bus stop. Walk along Hebelstrasse in north-west direction until you hit St. Johanns-Ring. Turn right and walk down St. Johanns-Ring. Turn right at the second crossing into Klingelbergstrasse. The Department of Physics is just at the corner on the your left-hand side of Klingelbergstrasse.

The charge for a taxi from Basel SBB to the Department of Physics is of the order of 25 CHF (swiss francs).

at Badischer Bahnhof (from Germany)

Take the bus number 30 (direction Bahnhof SBB) until the bus stop Bernoullianum. Walk downwards (opposite to the direction where you came from by bus) and turn into the first street on the left called Hebelstrasse. Walk along Hebelstrasse until you hit St. Johanns-Ring. Turn right and walk down St. Johanns-Ring. Turn right at the second crossing into Klingelbergstrasse. The Department of Physics is just at the corner on the your left-hand side of Klingelbergstrasse.

The charge for a taxi from Badischer Bahnhof to the Departement Physik is of the order of 20 CHF (swiss francs).

from Switzerland and Germany

Take the motorway exit Basel Badischer Bahnhof and follow the signs to Universitätsspital (Hospital). After the bridge (Johanniterbrücke) turn right into the Elsässerstrasse. Follow this street up to the St. Johanns-Tor (town gate) where you turn left into St. Johanns-Ring. The Department of Physics is situated at the corner St. Johanns-Ring / Klingelbergstrasse.

Be prepared to search for a parking place. The closest car park is the Parkhaus City by the Universitätsspital.

Arrivals from Germany must have a tax label (Autobahn-Vignette, 40 CHF) for the motorway or exit the motorway in Germany.

from France

Leave the motorway at the border and follow the signs to Bahnhof SBB until Kannenfeldplatz. Turn left (crossing the tram) and follow the Metzerstrasse until the crossroad with the St. Johanns-Ring (the crossing with the traffic lights). Follow the St. Johanns-Ring down to the Klingelbergstrasse, where you find the Department of Physics.

Be prepared to search for a parking place. The closest car park is the Parkhaus City by the Universitätsspital.
